Pickup: 9:00 AM from your Agadir hotel/riad. Drive north-east on the scenic mountain road toward Imouzzer Ida Ou Tanane. Pass through the Argan-tree forest — endemic to southern Morocco. If the season is right (mid-summer), look for the famous tree-climbing goats grazing on the Argan fruit high in the branches.
Continue climbing into the Atlas foothills with panoramic views back toward the Atlantic coast. Arrival in Paradise Valley by approximately 11:00 AM.
Start the easy walk (~30 min, gentle gradient) from the parking area down into the canyon. Soon the dry scrub gives way to a sudden world of palm trees, fig trees, oleander, and the clear mountain stream tumbling between boulders. The first natural rock pool appears after about 15 minutes of walking.
Continue deeper into the valley for the larger pools and the seasonal waterfall in the upper canyon. Free time to swim in the cold mountain pools, picnic on a flat boulder, or simply enjoy the shade of the palm grove.
Lunch at a Berber kasbah-style restaurant overlooking the valley — try tagine of chicken with preserved lemon, vegetable couscous, or fresh-grilled fish from the nearby Atlantic. Mint tea on the terrace.
Brief visit to a Berber family in a kasbah-style mountain home for mint tea and conversation. Optional purchase of Argan oil directly from the women’s cooperative.
Drive back to Agadir, stopping at panoramic viewpoints. Arrival at your hotel by approximately 5:30-6:00 PM.
