Tour Details — 7 Day Rabat to Marrakech Imperial & Sahara Tour

Our private 7 Day Rabat To Marrakech Tour offers an immersive Moroccan experience. A week is enough to add the desert to the imperial cities. Our 7 day Rabat to Marrakech tour is a private, one-way journey from Rabat to Marrakech that links the Blue City, Volubilis and Fes to a Sahara night at Erg Chebbi and the kasbahs of the south.

You wander Chefchaouen, stand among the columns at Volubilis, lose a day in the Fes medina, then drop through the Ziz Valley to Merzouga, where you ride camels into the dunes and sleep at a camp run by people we know. The road west takes in the Todra Gorge, the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, and the Tizi n’Tichka pass before Marrakech.

Day-by-Day 7 Days Rabat To Marrakech Imperial Cities And Sahara Tour

    Day 1Rabat → Chefchaouen

We pick you up in Rabat for a quick look at the capital — the Kasbah of the Udayas and the Hassan Tower — then drive north into the Rif to the Blue City of Chefchaouen. You wander the cobalt medina and climb to the Spanish Mosque for sunset.

    Accommodation: riad in Chefchaouen (B&B).

    Day 2Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes

South to the UNESCO Roman city of Volubilis — mosaics, arch, basilica — then the imperial gates and granaries of Meknes, into Fes by evening.

Accommodation: traditional riad in Fes (B&B).

    Day 3Fes — a full guided day

A full day in Fes el-Bali with a licensed guide: the Chouara tanneries, the Bou Inania madrasa, the Al-Qarawiyyin, the Royal Palace gates, and the craft souks of the largest car-free medina on earth.

Accommodation: traditional riad in Fes (B&B).

Day 4Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Ziz Valley → Merzouga (sunset camel trek)

A long, beautiful day south: the cedar forests and macaques around Ifrane and Azrou, the apple town of Midelt, and the palm-lined Ziz Valley overlook. By late afternoon the Erg Chebbi dunes rise from the plain, and a sunset camel trek carries you to a Berber camp run by people we know — tagine, drums, and stars.

Accommodation: Berber desert camp at Erg Chebbi (half board).

Day 5Sahara sunrise → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

Up for the sunrise, camels back for breakfast, then west via Rissani, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, to the Todra Gorge, where 300-metre walls frame the riverbed, and into the Dades Valley with its hairpin road.

Accommodation: hotel or riad in the Dades Valley (half board).

    Day 6Dades → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Tizi n'Tichka → Marrakech

West on the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs past Ouarzazate to the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou — a climb to the granary at the top and a bit of film-spotting — then over the Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m) into Marrakech for the evening.

    Accommodation: riad in Marrakech (B&B).

Day 7Marrakech — guided city tour and transfer

A morning with one of our guides through the red city: the Koutoubia, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Majorelle Garden, and the souks around Jemaa el-Fna. Afternoon transfer to the airport or train station, or stay on if you like.

When you are ready, send us a message — we will plan it around you.
