Tour Details — 5 Day Agadir to Marrakech Tour

Our private 5 Day Agadir To Marrakech Tour offers an immersive Moroccan experience. Most people fly into Agadir for the beach; we use it as the start of one of Morocco’s quietest desert roads. Our 5 day Agadir to Marrakech tour is a private, one-way crossing from Agadir up through the Anti-Atlas and the southern Sahara to Marrakech — the route the big operators skip, so you often have the dunes to yourself.

You start in Taroudant, the red-walled town they call little Marrakech, climb the saffron hills of the Anti-Atlas, and reach the desert at Foum Zguid for a camel trek and a Berber camp out on the sand. The road north runs the Draa Valley past a thousand kasbahs, through the Todra Gorge and the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, then over the Tizi n’Tichka into Marrakech. Private 4×4, English-speaking Berber driver.

Want the coast and Essaouira too? Our 7-day Agadir grand tour loops back to the sea.

Day-by-Day 5 Days Agadir To Marrakech Via Sahara

    Day 1Agadir → Taroudant → Anti-Atlas → Foum Zguid

We pick you up at 7:30 AM from your Agadir hotel, riad, or the airport and run east through endless argan forest to Taroudant, the walled town they call little Marrakech, for a stop under its 16th-century Saadian ramparts. We climb the Anti-Atlas on the Tizi Mighert pass — ochre rock, terraced villages, hilltop kasbahs — with tea and photo stops and a roadside Berber lunch, then east via Tata to Foum Zguid, on the edge of Iriqui National Park.

Accommodation: hotel or kasbah near Foum Zguid (half board).

Day 2Foum Zguid → Draa Valley → Zagora → Tinfou dunes (sunset camel trek)

After breakfast we drive north into the Draa Valley, the longest palm oasis in the world — two million date palms down some 200 km of river past mud-brick kasbahs. At Zagora you get the photo at the old Timbuktu, 52 days by camel signpost and the little souk, then on to the Tinfou dunes for a sunset camel trek to a Berber camp run by people we know — tagine, drums, and a sky thick with stars.

Accommodation: Berber desert camp, Tinfou (half board).

Day 3Sahara sunrise → nomad household → Merzouga

You wake before dawn for the sunrise, then ride back as the dunes shift from grey to gold. We stop for mint tea with a nomad household on the desert margin, then transfer east to the Merzouga / Erg Chebbi area for a second desert night — a comfortable riad with a real bed and a pool.

Accommodation: hotel or riad in Merzouga (half board).

Day 4Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades → Ait Ben Haddou

An optional second sunrise over Erg Chebbi, then west via Rissani, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, and Erfoud, the fossil town, to the Todra Gorge, where 300-metre walls close to a few metres apart and you walk the cool floor. On along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Dades Valley to near Ait Ben Haddou by evening.

Accommodation: hotel or riad near Ait Ben Haddou (half board).

    Day 5Ait Ben Haddou → Tizi n'Tichka → Marrakech

A morning at the UNESCO Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou — across the riverbed, up to the granary at the top, and the film locations of Gladiator and Game of Thrones — then the Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m) over the High Atlas, all switchbacks, with an argan-cooperative stop on the way down, into Marrakech by mid-afternoon. We drop you at your hotel, the airport, or the train station.

When you are ready, send us a message — we will set it up around you.
