Your Morocco adventure begins with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque — the largest mosque in Africa and one of the few open to non-Muslim visitors. Marvel at its stunning oceanfront location, intricate zellige tilework, and towering 210-meter minaret.
After the mosque visit, drive north to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city. Explore the iconic Hassan Tower — an unfinished 12th-century minaret — and the ornate Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Stroll through the charming Kasbah of the Udayas, a fortified quarter overlooking the Bou Regreg river with blue-and-white painted streets.

Morning: Enjoy a guided walking tour of Fes el-Bali — the world’s largest car-free urban zone and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the famous Chouara Tanneries, where leather has been dyed using traditional methods for over 1,000 years. Explore the Bou Inania Medersa, the historic University of Al-Qarawiyyin (the world’s oldest continuously operating university), and wander through the vibrant spice and textile souks.
Afternoon: Leave Fes and drive south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane — known as “Little Switzerland” for its clean streets and Alpine-style architecture. Continue to the Azrou Cedar Forest, home to troops of wild Barbary macaque monkeys — the only wild primates in Africa north of the Sahara.
Continue south to the mountain town of Midelt, nestled between the Middle and High Atlas ranges.

Morning: Drive south through increasingly dramatic landscapes. Descend into the Ziz Valley Gorge — a breathtaking canyon lined with millions of date palms and ancient ksour (fortified villages). Stop at the Ziz Valley panoramic viewpoint for photos.
Continue through Errachidia and Erfoud — known as the fossil capital of Morocco, where you can visit a marble fossil workshop showcasing 350-million-year-old marine fossils.
Afternoon: Arrive in Merzouga at the foot of the magnificent Erg Chebbi sand dunes — some reaching heights of 150 meters.
Late afternoon: Mount your camel and embark on a 1.5-hour sunset camel trek into the heart of the golden dunes. Watch the light transform the sand from gold to amber to deep orange as the sun sets behind the Sahara.
Evening: Arrive at your luxury desert camp — featuring private tents with en-suite bathrooms, comfortable beds, and a dining area. Return journey: Drive back via Errachidia and the Ziz Valley, then continue north to Casablanca (approximately 8-hour drive with stops) or arrange a transfer to your next destination.
