Talk to Your Morocco Tour Expert
Hello, I’m Brahim. For over 16 years, my family and I have been passionate Berber-led cultural tour guides here in our beautiful home, Morocco. We pour our hearts into every Morocco desert tour we run, and we would be delighted to share our experience with you.
Let’s work together to create a customized Morocco tour that you will cherish forever. We are excited to hear from you!
This 4 day Ouarzazate to Merzouga tour trades the smaller Zagora dunes for the towering Erg Chebbi — the highest, most spectacular sand sea in Morocco, where dunes rise up to 150 m. Looping out along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” through Skoura, the Valley of Roses, and the dramatic Dades and Todra gorges, then returning south through the Draa Valley, this private tour is built as a full circle — you never drive the same road twice.
Led by an English-speaking Berber driver/guide in a private air-conditioned 4×4, with a sunset camel trek into Erg Chebbi and a night in a desert camp under the Milky Way. Pickup from your Ouarzazate hotel. Prefer the closer dunes? See the 3 Day Ouarzazate Desert Tour.
This 4 day ouarzazate desert tour packs southern Morocco’s headline sights into 4 days, 3 nights:

Pickup: 8:30 AM from your Ouarzazate hotel. Head east on the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. First stop is the Skoura oasis and the photogenic Kasbah Amerdhil — the most-photographed earthen kasbah in Morocco and a living lesson in pre-Saharan architecture.
Continue to Kelaa M’Gouna, heart of the Valley of Roses, where millions of Damask roses are harvested each spring for rosewater — visit a distillery and browse rose products. The road then climbs into the Dades Valley, ending at the spectacular Dades Gorge with its serpentine switchbacks and “monkey-finger” rock formations. Check in for sunset over the cliffs.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner. Accommodation: Hotel/kasbah, Dades Gorge (half board).
After breakfast, drive to the Todra Gorge, where sheer 300 m walls close to just 10 m apart — walk the cool riverbed path beneath the cliffs. Continue across the Tafilalet plain to Erfoud (fossil capital) and Rissani, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, with its bustling traditional souk.
By late afternoon the golden wall of Erg Chebbi appears. Meet your camels for a sunset camel trek over the dunes to camp, arriving as the sky turns pink. Tagine dinner, Berber drumming, and some of the clearest stargazing on earth.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner. Accommodation: Berber desert camp, Erg Chebbi (half board).
Rise for sunrise over Erg Chebbi — the dunes glow crimson then gold. Ride back to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower. Optional morning 4×4 desert circuit: the Gnawa music village of Khamlia, the old Mifis kohl mines, nomad families on the hamada, and (seasonally) the flamingos of Dayet Srji lake.
After lunch, begin the scenic return, driving west via Alnif and Tazzarine toward the Draa Valley. Overnight in a traditional kasbah hotel near Nkob or Agdz, famous for its skyline of 40+ kasbahs.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner. Accommodation: Kasbah hotel, Draa Valley (half board).
A relaxed final morning following the Draa River and palm oasis back toward Ouarzazate, with photo stops and an artisan workshop. Add an optional visit to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou before the tour ends with drop-off at your Ouarzazate hotel by mid-afternoon.
Meals: Breakfast.
