Tour Details — 8 Day Agadir to Fes Tour

Our private 8 Day Agadir To Fes Tour offers an immersive Moroccan experience. This is the long diagonal across Morocco, beach to imperial city, that almost no one runs. Our 8 day Agadir to Fes tour is a private, one-way grand loop from Agadir through the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara, up to Marrakech, and on over the Middle Atlas to Fes.

You begin in red-walled Taroudant, reach the dunes at Foum Zguid for a camel trek and a Berber camp, then follow the Draa and the Todra Gorge to the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakech. From there the road climbs to Ifrane and the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, where the Barbary macaques live, before dropping into Fes, the oldest of the imperial cities, for a guided day in the medina. Private 4×4, English-speaking Berber driver.

Day-by-Day 8 Days Agadir To Fes Grand Loop Via Sahara And Imperial Cities

    Day 1Agadir → Taroudant → Foum Zguid

We pick you up at 7:30 AM and run east through the argan forest to Taroudant and its 16th-century ramparts, then over the Anti-Atlas on the Tizi Mighert pass — ochre ranges, terraced villages, hilltop kasbahs — with a roadside Berber lunch, to Foum Zguid on the edge of Iriqui National Park.

Accommodation: hotel or kasbah, Foum Zguid (half board).

Day 2Foum Zguid → Draa Valley → Zagora → dunes (sunset camel trek)

North into the Draa Valley, the longest palm oasis in the world, past the Zagora Timbuktu, 52 days signpost and a string of earthen kasbahs, to the dunes for a sunset camel trek and a Berber camp run by people we know — tagine, drums, stars.

Accommodation: Berber desert camp (half board).

Day 3Sahara sunrise → Merzouga 4x4 desert day

The sunrise, camels back for breakfast, then a 4×4 circuit of Erg Chebbi — the Gnawa village of Khamlia with its hypnotic live music, nomad households, and fossil-rich ground. A second night in a Merzouga riad with a pool.

Accommodation: hotel or riad in Merzouga (half board).

Day 4Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

West to the Todra Gorge for a walk beneath its 300-metre walls, then the Dades Valley with its hairpin road and eroded rock, sunset and overnight among the cliffs.

Accommodation: hotel or riad in the Dades Valley (half board).

    Day 5Dades → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Tizi n'Tichka → Marrakech

West on the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the UNESCO Ait Ben Haddou — the granary climb and the Gladiator and Game of Thrones locations — then over the Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m) into Marrakech for the evening.

    Accommodation: riad in Marrakech (B&B).

Day 6Marrakech — guided city day

A full day with one of our guides through Marrakech: the Koutoubia, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Majorelle Garden, and the souks around Jemaa el-Fna, best at dusk.

    Accommodation: riad in Marrakech (B&B).

    Day 7Marrakech → Beni Mellal → Middle Atlas → Ifrane → Azrou → Fes

North across the plains via Beni Mellal into the Middle Atlas, with stops at Ifrane, the Alpine-looking Little Switzerland, and the Azrou cedar forest and its wild Barbary macaques, into imperial Fes by evening.

Accommodation: traditional riad in Fes (B&B).

Day 8Fes — a full guided day, then transfer

A whole day in Fes el-Bali with a licensed guide — the Chouara tanneries, the Bou Inania madrasa, the Al-Qarawiyyin (the world’s oldest university), and the craft souks — then a transfer to the Fes airport or the train station.

When you are ready for this south-to-north crossing, send us a message.
