Day 1Casablanca → Hassan II Mosque → Rabat → Chefchaouen

We pick you up at the Casablanca airport or your hotel and start our tour at the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, built right over the Atlantic Ocean, featuring hand-carved wood and marble. We then travel north to Rabat, Morocco’s coastal capital, to visit the historic Hassan Tower and stroll through the white-and-blue cliffs of the Kasbah of the Udayas. In the afternoon, we head north into the scenic Rif Mountains, arriving in the famous blue city of Chefchaouen by evening.

Accommodation: hotel or riad in Chefchaouen (half board).

Day 2Chefchaouen — a day in the Blue City

Enjoy a slow, relaxed day exploring the picturesque blue-washed lanes of Chefchaouen. You can wander through the local markets, visit the historic 15th-century Kasbah on Plaza Uta el-Hammam, and climb the trail to the Spanish Mosque for a breathtaking panoramic view of the blue town nestled in the Rif Mountains. Sample local goat cheese, browse traditional wool crafts, and enjoy a cup of fresh mint tea on a rooftop terrace as the sunset turns the hills purple.

Accommodation: hotel or riad in Chefchaouen (half board).

    Day 3Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes (6 Hours Drive)

We head south out of the mountains to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Volubilis, where you will take a guided walk among 2,000-year-old Roman ruins and beautiful floor mosaics. We then continue to the imperial city of Meknes to view the grand Bab Mansour gate and the royal granaries built by Sultan Moulay Ismail. By late afternoon, we reach Fes and drop you off at your traditional medina riad, with time for a guided introductory walk.

Accommodation: traditional riad in Fes (half board).

Day 4Fes → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Ziz Valley → Merzouga (sunset camel trek) (4 Hours Drive)

We begin a long, scenic journey south through the Middle Atlas mountains. We stop in Ifrane, the Alpine-style town known as Little Switzerland, and visit the ancient Azrou cedar forest to feed the wild Barbary macaques. After a lunch break in the mountain town of Midelt, we drive through the spectacular Ziz Valley, stopping at an overlook above a million date palms. We reach Merzouga in the afternoon and mount camels for a 1.5-hour sunset trek into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, arriving at our desert camp for dinner, drumming, and a night under the stars.

Accommodation: desert camp at Erg Chebbi (half board).

Day 5Sahara sunrise → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley (7 Hours Drive)

Wake early to watch a beautiful Sahara sunrise from the dunes, followed by a camel ride back to Merzouga for breakfast. We stop in the market town of Rissani, the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, to see its traditional souk. We then head west to Tinghir and walk the riverbed of the spectacular Todra Gorge between 300-metre cliffs. In the afternoon, we continue to the Dades Valley to see the dramatic hairpin roads and red kasbahs, arriving at your hotel in time for dinner.

Accommodation: hotel or riad in the Dades Valley (half board).

    Day 6Dades → Rose Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Tizi n'Tichka → Marrakech

We travel west along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Rose Valley and Skoura oasis to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film capital. We continue to the ancient fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site featured in Gladiator and Game of Thrones, which we explore with a guide. After lunch, we cross the High Atlas mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m), stopping at scenic viewpoints, and arrive in Marrakech by early evening.

Accommodation: hotel or riad in Marrakech (half board).

Day 7Marrakech — guided city tour and transfer (5 Hours Drive)

Spend the morning with a local guide exploring Marrakech’s historic sights, including the zellige-tiled courtyards of the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the bustling Jemaa el-Fna square with its performers and spice stalls.
