Day-by-Day Itinerary of 6-day desert tour from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech → Tizi n’Tichka → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate

Departure: 8:00 AM

Cross the Atlas via Tizi n’Tichka. Explore Ait Ben Haddou in depth. Continue to Ouarzazate for the night.

Accommodation: Hotel in Ouarzazate (HB)

Day 2: Ouarzazate → Skoura → Rose Valley → Dades Gorge

Drive the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Visit the Skoura Oasis and the remarkable Kasbah Amridil. Pass through the Valley of Roses (visit a rose water distillery if in season). Arrive in the dramatic Dades Gorge and explore the winding canyon road.

Day 3: Dades Gorge → Todra Gorge → Erfoud → Merzouga → Camel Trek

Morning exploration of Dades Gorge’s hairpin bends. Drive to Todra Gorge for a canyon walk. Continue via Erfoud to Merzouga. Late afternoon sunset camel trek into Erg Chebbi.

Day 4: Sahara Sunrise → Merzouga Nomad Visit → Rissani → Nkob

Sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, visit a local nomad family in the desert region and learn about their way of life. Drive to Rissani to explore the souk. Take the scenic southern route via Nkob (village of 45 kasbahs) and the Saghro Mountains.

Day 5: Nkob → Draa Valley → Tizi n’Tinifift → Ouarzazate

Drive through the Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s most beautiful palm-lined river valleys. Visit the ancient Tamnougalt Kasbah near Agdz. Cross the Tizi n’Tinifift pass and return to Ouarzazate.

Day 6: Ouarzazate → Atlas Mountains → Marrakech

After breakfast, drive north through the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka with stops at panoramic viewpoints and Argan oil cooperatives.
